RIDE NOTES…
Took today off from riding and stayed in Tucson, AZ. Went to Ajo Bikes to get so light maintenance done on my bike. I got my rear view mirror replaced and since the pump I have will only get the tires to about 60 or 70 psi I had the bike shop top them off up to 100 psi. I also purchased a new inner tube to replace the one I had to used yesterday and some new reading glasses that bounced out of my front bag somewhere a few days back. My phone has been overheating in the direct sunlight so I’ve been trying to cover it with a sock, but it fell off yesterday so I bought a little car was mitt to cover it and I hope that works. Took the rental car on a trip to Benson, AZ to scout the next leg of my ride. I had lunch with a co-worker, Larry Perry, who lives here in Tucson and then had supper with Mike Zonnefeld. Mike is the step-father of Alex Curtis, a business acquaintance of Bart’s at Flight Safety Int’l. Mike had heard of my trip through Bart and Alex and was very interested. We went to Denny’s and had a good discussion about my ride. So, Larry bought my lunch and Mike bought my dinner. What a treat, thanks guys! Although that’s a little out of character for me as I usually prefer to pay my own way it was much appreciated.
