RIDE NOTES…
Got up super early to go to the airport this morning to drop off Chris and then Bart brought me back to the hotel in Alpine. We left the hotel around 8AM and Bart dropped me and my bike off where I stopped riding on 15-April near Ocotillo, CA. Little bit of elevation change early in the ride but mostly just a hot and dry and windy ride through the desert today. As I was riding a long stretch of rural desert in the middle of nowhere I passed a teenage Mexican male and he started yelling something in Spanish. I’m guessing he was as harmless as me but you never know. It was quite odd and I figured I could ride faster than he could run so I wasn’t about to stop and take the chance of being in any danger. Bart has been somewhat following me today and will continue to do so until I reach Tucson, AZ. He’s been a great resource will all of my electronics and the logistical help keeping me on the correct route. Hopefully by the time I get to Tucson, AZ I’ll be OK on my own. I met Bart at the hotel in El Centro, CA and after getting cleaned up we drove around what little town is around and went to Applebee’s for dinner.
