RIDE NOTES…
Easy ride today from Deming, NM to Las Cruces, NM but still 62 miles.
There is a website that long distance cyclists use for places to stay. It’s called warmshowers.org and it’s basically a list of cyclists who offer their hospitality towards other touring cyclists. Based on recommendations from other people who have done this ride I have decided to stay with one of the people listed on this website. I checked in with my hosts Lisa late afternoon, took a shower, and then went to McDonalds for ice cream and diet coke. She went back to work and returned home around 6PM. When she got back we went to dinner, by bike of course, at an Italian restaurant then we rode back and I got some laundry done. My bed is on her living room floor, but it’s plenty for me. Thank you very much Lisa for your hospitality!!
I was approached by another Mexican boy today yelling in Spanish. I have no idea what they want, but I’m still not willing to stop and find out.
