RIDE NOTES…
Pretty cold and windy ride this morning. 45 degrees and brutal headwinds. Had to stop a few times and find some shelter the winds were so strong. Made it a short day due to the wind and cold. Today was day 3 riding through Texas, I estimate it will take about 20 days to get all the way across. I stopped and spoke with a Border Patrol agent for a while today, they are very visible when you get close to the border. I told him about the few Mexican kids running after me and he gave me an 800 number to call and report it to them if it happened again. He also said I could call that number if I ever had an problems, breakdown, run out of water, etc. The border patrol is a great federal agency and maybe one of the most underappreciated. I take great pleasure in seeing government employees doing great work.
I made it to the Fort Hancock Motel for the night. Had a late lunch at Angie’s Restaurant, not a place I would normally go but they had a good burger and I’m planning to go there for breakfast tomorrow morning. Hotel is pretty much a dump but it’ll do for the night. I’m gonna change my front inner tube to the heavier duty style tonight.

Toe must be better since your not bitching. Kent told you to not wear sandles. 16days and almost 1/3 in, great job.
Toe is in good shape. Went over 1000 miles today and in Alpine, Tx. For the night. Short 31 mile day after long 78 mile day yesterday. Also purchased 2 new flat resistant tires today. Terrible headwinds since I left El Paso.
Looks like your doing great. We are watching you. #teamtom
Thanks for following. Been a great trip. One of those things you cannot even imagine till you “Just Do It”
Way to go Tom. Been following but too lazy to comment. Todd has been watching as well. Wish I was home for would come say Hey once you were near my area.
Thanks for following me along. What a trip. Very very hard but well worth it. Currently in Marathon, Tx. For the night. Short day, but next town(Sanderson) to far away to make it.
