notes RIDE NOTES…

Gladly left the nasty Fort Hancock Motel and rode to Sierra Blanca, TX today.  As you can see from the picture above it wasn’t very nice at all, but it’s pretty typical for these 1 motel towns and after a long day I still consider them 5 star!  Had breakfast at Angie’s Restaurant and it was very good.  Todays ride was only 38 miles but it was up and over a mountain pass. plus I had another flat tire, so it was a pretty full day.  Found some glass in one of my tires and had to change another inner tube.  I’m getting to be a pro at changing tubes; 5 since San Diego, CA.  At least todays went flat at a very nice scenic overlook about 8 or 9 miles outside of Sierra Blanca, TX.

It was good to see the Americana Inn in Sierra Blanca, TX.  Its very nice, clean, and reasonable.  I still don’t understand why they all advertise they’re American owned.  They all seem to be owned and ran by Indians.  (The ones with the dots, not feathers).  Either way she was a very nice woman and I would definitely stay here again.  I guess I just don’t understand, oh well.

I went to Subway, the only place in town, for a late lunch, then bought snacks, water, and beer for tonight and tomorrow at the gas station.  I did my laundry then sat outside my room in setting sun, ate my snacks, drank my 2 beers, and plotted my route for tomorrow.  It truly does not get any better than this.  I’m gonna watch the election results tonight for Indiana.  Hopefully after tonight Cruz and his VP will begin to fade away.
