RIDE NOTES…
Rode 51 miles today from Anthony, TX to Faben, TX. Had to navigate through El Paso, TX today but being Sunday traffic was light and it wasn’t as hard or confusing as I thought it was going to be. Very very windy day again and it was a long 51 miles. Ended the day in Faben, TX at the Fabens Inn. Its the only motel in town so it’s somewhat expensive and not very nice at all. The Fabens Inn is one of those “AMerican Owned” motels but that seems to really mean Indian owned. Not sure how that works, but…
I think I might have broken my toe yesterday. I heard something that didn’t sound quite right getting on my bike but didn’t think much of it at the time. Today its pretty bruised and sore. It sure is hell getting old.
Went across the street from the motel to Chesters for some fried chicken. The chicken was pretty good but they didn’t give me an y silverware for the sides and with 30 MPH winds I didn’t go back to get some.

When you can, fo to a feed store and buy raw MSM. Take a tablespoon with hot water, and it will really help your aches and pains!

Thanks for the concern Mike. I think it is actually getting better, but I’ll keep an eye on it and if it doesn’t continue to get better I’ll take your advice. Thanks again for your concern. Other than my toe and another flat tire things are going great. The next time I’m in a city with a bike shop I might swap my tires with a beefier tire with a little tread. Although my tires were new when I started my trip they are the type that virtually have no tread. Maybe a tire with a little tread would be better when riding road berms where glass and sharp objects are always present. Any thoughts on this??? Anyone??????
