notes RIDE NOTES…

Rode 44 miles from Lavonia, LA to Denham Springs, LA today.  It wasn’t a very long ride but it was pretty hectic crossing the Mississippi River.  I crossed the Huey P. Long Bridge which was long with no bike lane, so it was somewhat scary.  Also there was no park or overlook on either end, just lots of traffic.  Got a rear flat tire crossing the bridge as well!!  Pulled into McDonalds and fixed it with no problem.  Found a piece of wire, probably from a truck tire.  It’s a good feeling finding what caused the flat tire.  I was hoping to get some photos of the mighty river today but I was more concerned for my life than pictures.

I’ve been texting with Jaezel and Cheyenne, he is still in Mexico and she is still in Texas, so it’s unlikely we will ride into St. Augustine, FL together.  Neither of them have real plans, schedules, jobs, etc., so who knows if and when they will ever make it to Florida.

From talking with a girl at the Motel 6 apparently there is a group of girls roller skating across the country.  That sure makes my bicycle trip seem lame compared to them.
