RIDE NOTES…
Pretty short uneventful ride today from Sierra Blanca, TX to Van Horn, TX. 32 miles, but with strong headwinds and some elevation changes it was still a hard 4 hour ride.
I entered the Central Time Zone today. I will remain on central time until I reach the pan handle of Florida with is about a month away. Checked into the Motel 6 and stopped at McDonalds for ice cream. Went to Dollar General for water, sports drinks, and snacks then I went to Chuy’s Restaurant for Dinner. Chuy’s Restaurant is a local Mexican place made famous by John Madden who stopped in one Monday night in 1987 to watch the football game and took a liking to the place. Did some minor bike maintenance, lubed the chain, etc… in preparation for a long 75 mile day to Marfa, TX tomorrow. Going to bed early and plan to get an early start tomorrow.
