RIDE NOTES…
Easy 56 mile ride from Covington, LA to Bay Saint Louis, MS today. The first 15 miles I rode on the Tammany Bike Trail from Covington, LA to Slidell, LA. I was kind of apprehensive at first since I would have to cross lots of bridges but it all worked out well. I crossed over into Mississippi today. One more state then Florida!!
Its a holiday weekend and hotel rooms are hard to find. I finally settled for a Super 8 which wasn’t too bad, for a Super 8. I went to Docs Bar next door and then Wendy’s for supper. Not much else to do without a real vehicle. You’re pretty much confined to within a 1/4 mile or so from wherever you stay.
I’ve been recalculating my days ahead and I could be in St. Augustine, FL on Saturday June 11. 2 weeks from today.

Actually I should make it to Alabama today and plan to take the Ferry across Mobile Bay between Dauphin Island and Fort Hancock. Then continue East to Gulf Shores and on in to Florida at Pensacola. I should make it to Saint Augustine Beach within 2 weeks.
