RIDE NOTES…
It was a very nice and easy 55 miles today from Bay Saint Louis, MS to Pascagoula, MS. The first 35 miles or so was along the gulf coast from Bay Saint Louis, MS to Biloxi, MS. There are many new bridges (post Katrina) and all with great bike lanes. Since Katrina there is a lot of new construction in this area.
Pascagoula, MS was totally different! It’s an old industrial type city with nasty motels (even for me). I finally found a Studio 6 on the far east side which is actually pretty nice. I passed about 10 motels that I would not even stay in. I even had to stop a police office to inquire about lodging. He told me that Pascagoula, MS didn’t have any decent lodging.
I went to Walmart for a bike tube, patch kit, and some energy drinks and snacks. I ate an Canes Chicken and went to bed early as always.
