RIDE NOTES…
Rode 43 miles today from Vidor, TX to Dequincy, LA. What a great feeling it is to be out of Texas! It takes a long time to ride 1000 miles when you average 8 MPH.
There are 2 motels in town tonight and the first one I got to had no vacancies. Luckily I was able to get a room at the second one, the Heritage Place. It is somewhat pricey but since the next motel is 40 miles away I had no choice but to stay. Its a very nice place.
I walked downtown to the main attraction in town, the train museum, but it was closed so I went to DQ for supper instead.
I recalculated my route today and I think I will arrive in St. Augustine, FL on June 14th. I had originally planned on 2 months and I left San Diego, CA on April 14th so I should be dead on schedule!
